Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser and the young Colonel Gaddafi of Libya in 1969. Twenty-seven year old Gaddafi had seized power of Libya in a coup that same year. Gaddafi looked up to Nasser and aspired to be like him (It was said the colonel fainted twice during Nasser’s funeral). However Gaddafi never reached a national popularity such as Nasser and in August of 2011 he was overthrown by his own people and remains at large somewhere in the world.
